They're back with friends Pt. 1

The Roots : Star
Nappy Roots Feat. Martin Luther : Don't Call Me Nigger, Whitey
From
Different Strokes by Different Folks (Sony, 2005)

Yes, I know, it's not a news about Sly Stone. He's back, producing the band of his sisters. Last year, before I was first listen to Different Strokes by Different Folks, I excepted to discover a very large covers version of Sly Stone's tunes. 'Cause he influenced rnb, soul, funk, rock, jazz and afro-soul/funk sounds. Yet for this album, it wasn't (enough) the case. It seemed more to be a commercial project than ever.
Here you can listen Everybody Is A Star covered by The Roots, besides the band covered Life of Fortune and Fame Sly and Billy Preston's tune too in Game Theory, their last album. Anyway, I also wanted to reply to G147's tune post on
earfuzz : "Erase Racism".
